More Summer Fun!

It has now become an everyday occurance that after swimming lessons, we go rock climbing. Big One takes lessons at the Rec. Center, where they also have a rock climbing wall. Big One likes to see how fast he can go, as well as how high he can go. He is getting pretty good at it. Dylan would stay and climb all day...he is a monkey. I just hope that it doesn't transfer over to climbing out of his crib.

While it was still somewhat cool, mid-80's, we were able to go to the zoo with Grandma. It was PACKED, but we had a great time. Little One loved seeing all the animals, especially the giraffes and elephants.

Big One went to the zoo for his kindergarten field trip, and wanted to be our 'tour guide.' First stop, the white alligator (or crocodile, not sure of the difference). Little One loved it! Big One also wanted to show Little One the elephant that sneezes on you. He took him up to the front, and Little One wasn't so sure. The trunk of the elephant is the exact height of Little One...too bad for him. When they made it to the front, the elephant sneezed water right into Little One's face. He was nailed! Big One managed to miss it. Little One wasn't sure about this at all...so we dried him off, watched some other kids, and then he decided that it was 'punny (funny) and silly.' I guess that is what big brothers are for.

Then, we had to go ride the new carousel. It was really cute. Big One rode the Poison Blue Frog and Little One rode some sort of monkey-thing. Thanks to Grandma for making sure that he didn't fall off.

We had a great time at the zoo!

Whenever we can, we visit the library for their fun summer activities. This summer, the theme is all about catching the reading bug. The first activity we went to was a puppet show, that was adorable. Big One was able to participate in "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." He was the fly, and LOVED feeding it to the old lady. He has always loved that song/book, and so it was fun that he could participate in the play.

We love summer at our house!
